The SEERIH & Ogden Trust report of June 2021 offers pertinent insights into the national context of primary science education, highlighting how far too often primary pupils’ science learning involves ‘fun activities’ that do not deepen understanding of the associated scientific concepts.
By prioritising ‘wow’ moments without clear reference to any curricular goal, there is risk that primary pupils don’t fully embrace the opportunities for meaningful science learning.

Anne-Marie Imafidon, CEO Stemettes
This month we are highlighting Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE. She is CEO of the award winning Stemettes who encourage and celebrate women in STEM, which Anne-Marie co-founded to inspire and build up the pipeline of young women going into STEM careers, after discovering the falling numbers going into her industry.
