Funded projects and sponsorship opportunities for FIRST® LEGO® League

Through funded projects, sponsorship and donations we are able to reach disadvantaged young people all over the UK and Ireland to enable them to participate in FIRST® LEGO® League.

As the world faces increasing challenges, we need more engineers than ever before to solve them.

The importance of inspiring more young people to choose STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) subjects and related degree courses or apprenticeships to bridge the skills gap in UK industry is widely recognised and has never been more important for the future of our profession.

The IET is passionate about the future of engineering and believes every child deserves access to high-quality STEM education and that’s why we’re working with industry and organisations to give more children an opportunity to engage with STEM learning.

We know that one STEM experience can change a young person’s career path and by inspiring the next generation from an early age, we can enable young engineering talent to reach their full potential. Working together with industry and organisations, we can give even more young people access to amazing STEM experiences and help transform lives.

Take a look at why industry support is so important and how our work with Sage has positively impacted over 14,100 children in the North-East of England across 48 schools (Sage case study at 1:38 mins).

Want to make a difference and sponsor FIRST® LEGO® League?

FIRST® LEGO® League is a great way to make a difference and positive impact in your local community, or even wider across the UK and Ireland. It’s an easy way to contribute to your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals and is a fantastic way to engage your employees in volunteering opportunities.

But don’t just take our word for it! Take a look at what some of our existing sponsors and donors say about their engagement with FIRST® LEGO® League and the impact it has had on them as an organisation, their employees and the young people they support.

Why sponsor or donate to FIRST® LEGO® League?

We’re incredibly proud of the impact FIRST® LEGO® League has on the children and young people who participate in the programme each year.

Sponsorship and donation plays a massive part in helping us to reach the number of children and young people that we do, including making a positive impact in disadvantaged communities and with under-represented demographics.

The IET uses sponsorship and donation to directly support schools, not pay our wages, so what you sponsor or donate will cover things like registration to the programme, provide schools and teams with all the kit they need and give them access to training and support.

A lot of our sponsors and donors also want to get hands on and there are loads of volunteering opportunities available to your staff.
