Registration - FIRST® LEGO® League

FIRST® LEGO® League entry cost

Registration costs £150 + VAT per team. The entry fee covers:

  • Your Challenge Set (this is the practice field for your robot), comprises of an exclusive selection of LEGO® bricks to be built into missions and a roll-out field/mat to practice on
  • Administrative support from the IET
  • Entry into one of the Regional Tournaments.

If you wish to enter an additional second or third team these will be charged at £75 each + VAT. You will not receive an additional challenge set.

What happens next?

Your Challenge Set will be sent to you as soon as your registration payment has been received, but no sooner than September 2019 when the kits get delivered to the IET. The easiest way to pay is by credit card or proforma invoice. If you are paying by purchase order, please process this as quickly as possible to avoid a delay in receiving your kit.

Your team will need to use a LEGO® MINDSTORMS® set to build the robot, which is not supplied. We have developed an official partnership with the LEGO® equipment supplier Raising Robots. All versions of LEGO® MINDSTORMS® are acceptable to use in FIRST® LEGO® League.

SPIKE Prime update

In previous communications, teams may have seen that the new LEGO® Education robotics set called SPIKE™ Prime was to be valid for us within the 2019-20 season. We have since received an update from LEGO® Education, informing us that the release of the SPIKE™ Prime equipment is to be delayed until early 2020. This means that SPIKE™ Prime will NOT currently be useable within the 2019-20 CITY SHAPER season.

If you have pre-ordered SPIKE™ Prime from a LEGO® Education partner, please contact them directly for an update on your options. As a minimum for the 2019-20 season, each team will now require access to a LEGO® MINDSTORMS Core Set.
