The IET Faraday® Challenge Days 2024 - 2025

Each Challenge Day provides six teams of six students, aged 12 to 13 years (England and Wales Year 8, Scotland S1/S2, Northern Ireland Year 9), with the opportunity to research, design and make prototype solutions to real-world engineering problems.

This season’s theme partners are the UKRI’s Faraday® Battery Challenge. See information on all our programme supporters for the 2024-2025 season.

The IET Faraday® Challenge is an annual competition of STEM activity days, which are designed to be cross curricular and cover hands on activities spanning science, technology, engineering and maths.

Each Challenge Day will be set up and run by our team of STEM professionals at no charge to UK schools.

The National IET Faraday® Challenge competition and National Final

The competition has one day events covering the whole of the UK and sees teams competing to win a prize for their school.

The top teams at the end of the season are invited to the National Final to battle it out to be crowned the IET Faraday® National Champion and will win a cash prize of up to £1000 for their school to spend on STEM activities.
