Diwali activities

Get your students learning about different cultures by getting them to make diyas, traditional lamps made from clay or mud that represent the triumph of light over dark, and good over evil. Students can also celebrate Diwali by making rangolis/kolams, a pattern that is used to welcome the Hindu Goddess of wealth into a house, known for bringing good luck. Use our free and editable resources to engage and inspire in the classroom.

And don’t forget to share your learning highlights and final creations with us on social media @IETEducation or via email at IETEducation@theiet.org. Your submissions will be shared in our online gallery!

Please note, these resources and experiments have been specifically designed to be carried out with adult supervision or direction as appropriate, and it is recommended that the instructions are followed in a safe manner. All resources and experiments are carried out at your own risk.

If you have enjoyed these Diwali resources, why not try these ones too?
