Diwali activities

Students can take part in the Diwali celebrations by making rangolis/kolam, bright and colourful designs used to welcome the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth. They can also make their own diya, a traditional oil lamp that represents the triumph of light over dark, and good over evil. Use our free and editable resources to engage and inspire your class.

And don’t forget to share your learning highlights and final creations with us on social media @IETEducation or via email at IETEducation@theiet.org. Your submissions will be shared in our online gallery!

Please note, these resources and experiments have been specifically designed to be carried out with adult supervision or direction as appropriate, and it is recommended that the instructions are followed in a safe manner. All resources and experiments are carried out at your own risk.

If you enjoyed these Diwali activities, why not try the bonfire night ones too?
